Open the Bubble

Stillman Tennis Center is an integral part of our community and has been for decades. The Stillman leadership and other team members do an amazing job of supporting, developing and most importantly, directing our young people away from high risk activity and toward more grounded academic/career endeavors. As a long-term adult member, I've had a chance to see many of these young people grow and mature and themselves become actively involved in their own communities which is truly awe-inspiring, Many of these young people came and continue to come from very humble beginnings. The absence of an available site and related programming efforts, means most of them would never pick-up a racquet, become engaged in a lifelong sport/activity, or become members of a larger community that expands well-beyond the club. We need to do whatever necessary to ensure the ongoing viability of this programming for our kids! Whether a tandem of public and/or private funding, let's get this done! Susan Wynn and the CHAD team do an incredible job. The bubble is packed 7 nights a week and it's shame the city has left it in its current state.

I Have played in the bubble for many years as a kid and although it's dirty and ripped, it's part of the community and gives kids a chance to practice tennis and make life long friendships.

We need affordable tennis instruction for our kids. This bubble and facility is our community’s only access to that.

My family and I used to spend 3-5 days playing tennis here...please keep the doors open!

The Bubble has a part here now in Charlestown, many people have learned tennis here & we need to keep a good thing going!

The bubble provides an important focal point for the community and enhances the variety of athletic options available in the city. Please don't take it down!

The Bubble at Mel Stillman Community Tennis Center allows for year round recreation in the Greater Boston area for persons of all ages and ability, races and social background. It both welcomes and brings so many diverse people together that it is a virtual microcosm of the melting pot that is our urban landscape. Please help us to ensure this most valuable resource for the enjoyment of the future generations to come.

Keep the Mel Stillman Tennis Center open! It is a valuable resource to many, but most importantly the children in the community!

I'm sorry that the condition of the Bubble came to this point without repairs being made along the way. What a loss it would be to see it come down. I totally endorse your efforts to keep the program going.
