Open the Borders Now to save livelihoods

The confusion surrounding the opening and closing of borders is what's hurting the most. We understand that these areas are being impacted, but better management of this is needed longer term.

Boarders for travel must open soon to avoid further businesses collapsing and unemployment increase.

All around the world, too much countries have closed borders to international tourists and travelers. Tourism sector is battered in many countries. And informal economy related to it too (families owning little hotels, little vehicle rental shops, etc), in a much greater proportion than the official economic sector. Unemployed and jobless peoples are hundreds of millions in the world (as a reminder : informal economy is 2 billions people in the world...). The other danger is that, when an important economic sector as is tourism in many countries is battered, it automatically contaminates the other sectors by reducing internal consumption, and it amplifies the problem, causing more and more unemployment and closure of businesses in various domains of activities. More unemployed and jobless people this way, in greater proportions. Soon, most of these people will fall in extreme poverty. And many will die of its consequences, as poverty is the best killer on Earth. It has many ways to kill people : malnutrition weakening immune system (opening door to other more dangerous and more lethal epidemics than COVID), starvation, psychological disorders leading to suicide, violence such as hunger riots, criminality, political unrests, civil wars or even international wars. COVID ? it is just a particularly pathetic apprentice killer, in comparison. In a few monthes, if the situation does not change and if people can not work again through re-opening all borders to international tourism, what will we see ? We will see that for every 1 COVID related death, there will probably be between 10 and 12, if even not much more, poverty related deathes ! Totally desequilibrated ! The world must re-open NOW, with intelligent measures, such as testing before and after travel. But quarantines and deplacement limitations are killing the economy (not only tourism), as no tourists will travel in such a scheme ! A tourist travels to feel free, to experience new things, to see other landscapes,

Many couples are far apart and wasting away youth time to wait for border to open. Live with corona like normal flu. Health is important but without means to earn money willl affect not only health but mentally stress and how many people commit suicide due to not earning for living. Is the same. Not opening borders are onlybto protect the rich.

We must open international border with new safety rules and regulations as soon as possible to protect our economy :)
