This open letter is to support a resolution that i am taking to The Tribal Council of Warm Springs.

The letter is as follows:

Subject: A Call to Action for Palestine: Learning from Our Shared Histories

Dear Tribal Council – Confederated Tribes of Warm Springs,

I am reaching out to you as a concerned individual, compelled by the urgent need to address the ongoing crisis in Palestine. The escalating violence and humanitarian distress faced by the Palestinian people resonate deeply with the historical injustices suffered by various communities across the globe, including Native American Indians, Jewish communities, Black populations, Mexicans, and other nations. These communities have endured the pain of displacement, systemic violence, and the struggle for self-determination, mirroring the plight of the Palestinians today.

Throughout history, we have witnessed the devastating consequences of conflicts rooted in the desire for land, power, and dominance. From the forced removal and genocide of Native American tribes from their ancestral lands, the horrific atrocities faced by Jewish communities throughout history, including the Holocaust, the brutalities of slavery and systemic racism endured by Black populations, to the struggles of Mexicans and other nations against colonization and for their rights—each of these episodes shares a common thread of suffering and resilience.

Drawing parallels with the situation in Palestine, it is evident that the cycle of violence, displacement, and injustice continues to repeat itself, underscoring the importance of global solidarity and action. Therefore, I urge the Tribal Council – Confederated Tribes of Warm Springs to consider the following steps:

1. **Advocate for Peace and Justice:** Promote and support efforts aimed at achieving a just and lasting peace in Palestine, recognizing the rights of the Palestinian people to live in dignity and freedom.

2. **Support Humanitarian Efforts:** Facilitate and increase humanitarian aid to Palestinian communities, ensuring access to essential services such as healthcare, education, and shelter.

3. **Encourage Dialogue:** Support initiatives that foster dialogue and understanding between conflicting parties, emphasizing the need for empathy, mutual respect, and the recognition of each other's humanity.

4. **Educate and Raise Awareness:** Promote educational campaigns that highlight the historical and current struggles faced by Palestinians, drawing on the lessons learned from the experiences of Native American Indians, Jewish communities, Black populations, Mexicans, and other impacted nations. Understanding our shared histories can pave the way for empathy, solidarity, and collective action.

5. **Champion Human Rights:** Stand firm in the defense of human rights for all, advocating against violence, oppression, and injustice wherever they occur. The dignity and rights of the Palestinian people must be upheld, just as we strive to acknowledge and rectify the injustices faced by other communities throughout history.

By acknowledging the interconnectedness of our struggles and histories, we can forge a path towards a more just and compassionate world. I hope that the Tribal Council – Confederated Tribes of Warm Springs will join in these efforts, lending your voice and resources to support the Palestinian people in their time of need.

Thank you for considering this urgent appeal. Together, we can make a difference in the lives of those who continue to suffer from the legacies of displacement and conflict. Please feel free to contact Colleta Macy (Central Oregon for Free Palestine) [email protected], for further discussion or to explore ways in which we can collaborate on these critical issues.

Grateful for the representation by Colleta Macy, Warm Springs. There is something very moving and real for a descendant of indigenous survivors of genocide who have a burning desire to be there for Palestinians as genocide is done upon them with the complicit evil actions taken by the very nation state which visited genocide upon her own people, and still do in the same manner this country's leaders are doing for Netanyahu against occupied Palestine. Paying for it. Ignoring the grave suffering. Lieing. Stopping the Ceasefire the people represented by Coletta Macy desperately cry out for. Free Free Palestine. Ceasefire Now. Stop the Genocide. Stop the Apartheid. Stop Western Settler Colonial Oppression!!

FREE PALESTINE. PALESTINIAN LIBERATION IS INDIGENOUS SOVEREIGNTY, IS LAND BACK, IS COLLECTIVE INTERSECTIONAL LIBERATION FOR ALL. TO LIBERATE PALESTINE IS TO FOIL THE COLONIAL SYSTEMS THAT HAVE DESTROYED OUR HERITAGE, MADE IT IMPOSSIBLE TO GO HOME, IMPOSSIBLE TO TRACE BACK OUR ROOTS, PRACTICE CEREMONY, TEND THE LAND AND MADE OUR ANCESTORS LIVES A LIVING HELL THAT WE STILL ENDURE TODAY, THREATENS OUT LIVES EACH DAY. PLEASE DEMAND A CEASEFIRE, END TO THE SIEGE AND END OF THE OCCUPATION.
