Hancock County has recently opened their end of Ridge Road, which means the entire 8 mile length of the road from Hwy 43 S. to Texas Flat Rd. is open to the general public with the exception of the approx. 1/4 mile from Asa McQueen Rd. to the Hancock County line. There are very strong emotions concerning that road and it appears the majority of the Pearl River County citizenry want to see that gate taken down. if you are one of those people, please sign this petition to be presented to the Pearl River County Board of Supervisors. Thank You.
I am asking people to sign this petition to have the gate removed on Ridge Road. My parents Irma and T.J. Frierson have owned land off of Ridge Road since the mid 50's. We were raised on this land and there is a lot of fond memories there. We would still be there if not for the test site. My mother is 86 years old and is not able to open nor should she be expected to open a large gate, that is located on U.S. Government land, to get to her property. that she has owned and paid taxes on since the mid 1950's.
