Perhaps if the school had consulted with parents BEFORE making thus autocratic decision there would have been a better solution in place and some people may have been happy to supervise the playground before 08:45.

What’s the point of having a playground if the kids cannot use it also is this not a health safety issue with young children near a road /this school have has been open many year with teachers happy to have kid safe in the playground where they safe ,perhaps they should read the safe guarding book that in all schools and teachers dinner lady’s cleaners have read

Please read the email! There is options available and it's for your children's safety. Is you haven't, see below....
Dear Parents/Carers,
I hope that you are enjoying the nice weather and that the children are looking forward to the start of the new academic year.
At the end of the last term, I sent a letter out informing you that in order to improve the safeguarding of children before school, the school gates would not be opening until 8.45 am in September. A member of staff will be on each gate supervising the children coming into school and children will then go straight into class.
We appreciate that this makes it particularly difficult for those who need to get to Tennyson Road to drop off siblings, so we have put into place a new 'Early Morning Club' starting at 8.30 am. I just want to clarify that this provision is free of charge to children with siblings who will be at Tennyson Road.
If parents/carers, who do not have siblings at Tennyson Road, need provision before school starts for their children, they will be able to use the breakfast club facility from 8.00 am, where a healthy breakfast and supervision is provided for a charge of £2 a session or you too have the option of sending them to early morning club at 8.30 am for a charge of 50p per session, which goes towards staffing costs.
Please also note that the school office is currently closed but will be open on Monday 3rd September and Tuesday 4th September, 8.30 am until 4.00 pm if you have any queries.
I apologise that the previous information was not as clear as intended and hope you enjoy the remainder of the Summer.
Kind regards
Mrs O'Connor
