I encourage all Catholic leaders to allow Catholics everywhere to see their respect for life and their Church by supporting Catholic teaching.

While I am in 100% support of the churches teaching on NFP, the percentage of Catholics rejecting this teaching not only reflects the need for outreach but more so a problem with the accessibility and effectiveness of methods. While statistics for perfect use are high, typical use is abysmal and extended abstinence is the norm during transition fertility periods. The church needs to help the faithful to make this burden a little lighter through research and in investment into teaching methods.

As a Protestant on the BCP for 6 years, I can absolutely attest to being shocked just as a self-proclaimed feminist when for the first time, i learned how my body worked when I was 30 years old in marriage prep. I find it offensive to tell women that you have to alter the chemistry of your body and "trick it" to achieve your "goals". The pill left lasting damage for my fertility as well did nothing but increase my risk of breast cancer, give me life-altering migraines, and tell me I can't be complete without a pill. Hypocrisy.
agree!
