BFI's choice feels like a hard slap in the face, as well as farcical.

This is so insulting to biological women!

Munroe is a man in woman face. This spot belongs to a woman

How dare you allow a male to take the place of a woman film maker? Wake up and smell the fraud.

This is completely disrespectful to actual female film makers. Totally disgusting how you can pass over so many talented women to put a man who has only been in front of the camera to my knowledge. Sickening :(

Women spoke only 27% of the dialogue in the top 10 grossing films of 2016. And now you have invited a man to speak for us once again. Give women a voice.

Munroe Bergdorf is a man, not a woman. He has presented - not produced, directed or written - one film. There are thousands of woman in the film industry more worthy of making a speech than this man. Stop ignoring women.

Munroe Bergdorf will reply: "I Am A Woman". So, British Film Institute, how about get yourselves concerned with the competition of transgender women with natal women? Let's think about the natal women who lived before and will also will live after a transgender woman, like Munroe Bergdorf, has hogged the attention of the British Film Institute and its awards. It's possible that natal women will always be a constant type of human being, which is (you know) the Human Female, while transgender beliefs won't forever endure.

Such an insult to real women! Seriously, you need the publicity that much?
