I am not an alum, student, faculty member, or even a seminary graduate, but I value the truthfulness of this petition and add my name to those asking you to reconsider awarding Rev. Tim Keller the Abraham Kuyper Award.

I am shocked and offended, as a woman 30 years' worth of ordained in a denomination I had hoped had grown out of such hateful, hurtful discrimination against faithful sisters and brothers.

Tim Keller's theology has been used against me before to attempt to discount my call to ministry. He should not be rewarded for bigotry.

Craig Barnes's very weak attempt to deflect this toward "diversity of conversation" was particularly disappointing. This article puts it exactly right: "While we wholeheartedly believe in academic freedom and the importance of hearing a diversity of perspectives, we believe this award constitutes an endorsement that jeopardizes Princeton Theological Seminary’s ability to be a place that affirms everyone equally in ministry."

Bestowing a prize... an insult to me and every woman who graduated pursuing ordination and a vocation as a leader in the Presbyterian tradition.
