Let us let each other go in peace. We've seen the ugly alternative in other denominations. Bless you as we go our way.

I call for grace from the Bishop, her cabinet and the Virginia conference trustees as they act on churches seeking disaffiliation. I also call on the Global Methodist Church to waive the first 12 months of apportionments for newly transferring congregations as they assume the financial burden of leaving the UMC.

I agree with the the Protocol of Reconciliation & Grace Through Separation that was originally offered for the General Conference in May 2020. I would ask that those that will be making the decision at this year's Annual Conference will be graceful to those congregations that would like to disaffiliate from the United Methodist Church.

We ask for grace for all those who feel uncomfortable remaining in The United Methodist Church.

An amicable separation is long overdue. I declined a second term on the Conference Board of Trustees because I am weary of the long-term conflict. Let's complete what we all know must be done.

I am a retired elder living in Lynchburg and I agree with an amicable separation. Let's not fight anymore.
