Open letter to ChildLine: Stop normalising the use of pornography to children

Normalizing pornography is NOT healthy. It promotes violence against women, it is damaging and upsetting.

How this was allowed in the first place is beyond me.

Children don’t need to watch porn, it’s tantamount to saying they need to stab someone in order to understand knife crime!

Stop the use of this for children, ASAP! Safeguarding 101!!

Encouraging children to view porn is grooming them, normalising the sometimes extreme, nonconsensual acts (eg choking) in adult pornography. Children should be allowed to develop without this pressure to be plunged into vicariously experiencing choreographed sex between adults, possibly involving child victims, through the exploitation and objectification of others. The people (and their hard drives) behind this policy should be investigated. Inciting children to be exposed to these images is a safeguarding red flag.

This is grooming and sexual abuse of children, not education.

Pornography is extremely damaging to children & stunts their ability to have healthy respectful relationships NSPCC should be ashamed of themselves for promoting this

Sex is for adults not children. ..your making society accept abuse, Satan rules all authorities and this is why most authority and government are Satan's pal... God sees every word and everything you do...this is against protection of an innocent child.... SAFEGUARDING EXISTS IN ALL AUTHORITIES BUT IT'S THE AUTHORITIES WHO ARE RECRUITING THE ABUSERS AND MONEY IS AT THE ROOT OF IT ALL! !!!!

Please create a more healthy video for children that tells the inconvenient truth about the harms of pornography.

I'm shocked by this and so disappointed. Teach children by all means, but not like this!

Children viewing porn is child abuse and that is what Childline need a video on - not this.

Keep porn away from children! No matter now “instructional”!! This is atrocious and irresponsible to our innocents!

Even the title is offensive. Why not just say What instead of WTF.

Why?

Girls are being let down and material like this will only lead to pressure upon them by boys and toward conforming to what the same are seeing on screens. This "resource" should be removed and children not encouraged to see what often is abuse as 'normal'.
