Open letter to ChildLine: Stop normalising the use of pornography to children

I never thought the day would dawn when NSPCC/Childline would commission such a video! The manner in which the message is delivered simply conveys desiring the viewing of pornography on the level of watching your favorite Tom and Jerry cartoon. The messenger uses speech in the same way any salesman offers a new chocolate bar product. The video presents P. as something that is fun and quite normal to want to watch which, I would have thought, with the standards of safeguarding that Childline SHOULD be upholding, flies in the face of all the principals that Childline ought to stand for. SHAME SHAME on you NSPCC/Childline for aligning yourself with these lies.

NSPCC - if pornography corrupts adults, what are you doing permitting it to children ? Do you have a moral compass other than whatever pressures are placed on you ? You, like us all, can only find one in what our Creator has shown us of what is good and bad for us - we cannot discern this for ourselves: all is flux when we are all we have.

Porn is dangerous material, even to adults!

I'm shocked and horrified by this video leading children to believe something as harmful as porn is ok. As a parent of now adult children and a teacher, I feel qualified to say this video is dangerous in that childline was previously seen as a voice to be believed and trusted. As such, quick action needs to be taken to remove the video.

I am so thankful that even so-called 'soft porn' was kept to the top shelves when I was a kid. Even so, what I did see almost ruined me: and I've lost count of my contemporaries who ended up with porn addictions!

Dismayed that Childline would promote this.

I always thought ChildLine was meant to help children not throw PORN at them causing more damage than good. You need to remove this video ASAP.

Pornography is very insidious and creates many unkind and bad reactions within families which divide partners from each other. It is very destructive to relationships and diminishes the value of humans who have no thought of polluting young people by displaying nudity and sex acts for the gratification of the flesh.

It’s not surprising what’s happening because we are in the Days of Noah & because of this Jesus is returning soon for His Bride, the Church. Most important to get the truth of the Gospel out as the Holy Spirit leads us individually!

Children should not be exposed to any kind of porn. In other words, children should be robbed of their childhood and innocence!!!

Since the 1960s children have been denied the wholesomeness of protection from knowledge that is damaging and which leads them away from a carefree, marriage/faithfulness-based vision of sex ... as God designed it to be. Rather than protecting today's children "WTF is Porn" would sexualise children with an enticing view of pornography and an absence of any sort of upholding of chastity.

There shouldn't be any need to create porn as in doing so the main people being abused in this way are vulnerable /damaged women. This WTF is Porn sanctions the making of Porn as an okay business activity whilst deliberatley ignoring the darker underbelly of this industry.
