This seems highly irresponsible of the AAP and surely requires the integrity of correction.

Congratulations on this effort to inject complexity and science into this contagious socially propagated phenomenon.

Anyone with eyes to see can recognize the current explosion of gender dysphoria for what it is: a maladaptive coping mechanism similar to anorexia, cutting, etc. I'm genuinely curious why sex/gender issues and declarations are to be accepted without question or hesitation. This can't be best practices.

Stop Gender being confused with biology.

Please stop this insane ideology. Children are born male and female. Period.

Please think long term how this will affect children not just looking at short term solutions

I am a parent of a girl who identified (self diagnosed) as trans beginning at age 15. She is almost 20 now and for the past 8 months has been desisting. It's a long process but well worth it!

When I joined this group of amazing, CONCERNED parents last yr. , I "believe" I was in the 90's, now a yr. later, 1100+? There is something seriously wrong when groups like you , WHO and ect. react base on the TRA's input alone! You are NO better than those who dismissed Littman's study on TRA's "OUTCRY"! Well, now you WILL deal with the OUTCRY of PARENTS, and ME, a Grandparent, who's lives have been turned upside down over...Ideology, Feelings, Brainwashing, Fad, Social media, Misogyny, Homophobia, Perverts, Autogynephilia! I’m the parent of a naive, sensitive, gentle male teen who has little in common with the alpha male stereotype. Our society taught him this means he is a girl and his father and I are the enemy because of our caution. Health care and education professions must move bravely forward on this issue before more families are destroyed and futures of our youth are put at risk.

Please consider the potential harm of putting children on a path to infertility, possible sexual dysfunction, and permanent medicalisation. Most will desist given time.

Dear American Academy of Pediatrics (AAP): So many healthy, beautiful bodies of the young females are being destroyed. Their mind needs to be treated, not the body! Affirmative medicine is wrong and unethical. Please, help us to save our daughters!

Don't affirm children's hate for their own bodies.

As a proud lesbian who has contributed to women's community and culture for over 30 years, if you had told me as a child I could be a boy, I would have jumped on that from age 4-17. But at 17, I finally understood and accepted I was a lesbian and my life came into focus and I never looked back. I found the people I belonged with and learned to love my body. Nobody gets to choose their body. It's all temporary anyway. Let kids figure out who they are without pharmaceutical interference.
