My observation is delaying helping child explore why and how they came to that conclusion ends is desistance and happier children.

I watched as my daughter's friends who were previously gay became transgender. The contagion is real, and even spread to other children in the middle school. Try talking to middle school counselors to find out the truth about this.

I respectfully request and urge AAP to seriously consider parents' opinions.

Shame on you. This is a medical experiment and you know it. You are ignoring all of the signs of social contagion. You ignore the epidemic in the UK where they have seen a 4000% increase in girls id'ing as trans in less than a decade. You ignore schools where there are multiple kids saying they are trans in only one classroom. Do you seriously believe that when teens suddenly say they are the opposite sex they should not be questioned and should be put on hormones or dangerous puberty blockers? Have you lost your minds? Stop pretending this is based in science by conflating trans kids with intersex. We parents know this is BS and it is just a matter of time before the lawsuits begin and you will look foolish and cowardly for not standing up for truth and respecting your sacred oath to First, Do No Harm. The only thing you can do to restore your reputation as responsible caring pediatricians is to immediately retract this indefensible policy statement that has no basis in science, as James Cantor explained here. child.http://www.sexologytoday.org/2018/10/american-academy-of-pediatrics-policy.html

I suggest this organization return to the first tenet of medicine and "first do no harm." I believe this policy is not based on science or real care about children, but is a political decision that caves to the trans activists. As such my respect for it is greatly diminished. I urge them to return to caring about the wider community and less about themselves.

My child has not said anything to me about her discomfort in her body that I didn't feel at her age. She is acting and sounding like me and the rest of my friends at that time. I've lived through this and I can tell you from experience that this is going to pass, but my child is going to come out the other end with a broken body. You are doing irreparable damage to your profession. I am increasingly losing faith in the medical community because of this nightmare I am living through.

This is dangerous and most of the interventions being carried out on children are irreversible. Please do everything that you can to fight this insidious cult activity.

Don't let this become another dark chapter in the history of medicine and fad "scientific" crazes that have left so many people irreversibly damaged in the aftermath. This entire process needs far more scrutiny and scientific rigor than what extremist activists have allowed; please don't position politics before peer review. These are extreme interventions and the stakes are very high.

As someone who lived as trans and desisted it is irresponsible to give treatment to young children, when the effects are not known. Lupron already has horrific reports of side effects, and yet is thought of as being safe. This is ridiculous! Change sexist stereotypes instead of telling children their bodies are wrong!

The way to solve this problem is to deny the use of taxpayers' funds for gender altering treatments just like taxpayers' funds are not allowed to be used to pay for abortions (outside of the three exceptions of rape, incest, and threat to mother's health). It should never be the case that young people come to a doctor, declare themselves transgender, and start the gender-altering *treatment* immediately with no cost to the patient. If an individual wants to perpetrate this unimaginable harm upon themselves while they are searching for their identity, they must pay for the treatment with their own funds. If parents want to pay for the "treatment," there's nothing the society can do. However, most parents will withhold funds lest their child be harmed, so the young people will have to figure out a way to save a significant amount of money to pay for this "treatment." By the time they are able to save up such a significant chunk of money, they will, hopefully, wise up and realize how crazy that idea was to begin with. If the taxpayers' money is in abundant supply for the gender transforming treatments, these funds should be redirected to pay for cancer treatment, heart disease treatment, diabetes treatment, etc. for those who cannot afford those types of medical services or for research in those areas. Use this money for other purposes or give it back to the taxpayers, but do not maim children and young adults, using taxpayers' money. It's incredible that the current state of affairs vis-a-vis the ease of access to gender altering treatments at no cost to the patient even exists. I'm sure this state of affairs is driven by the tremendous amounts of money available to medical providers for such gender-altering "treatments." Stop the cash flow, and this outrage will quickly cease.

There have always been gender non informing children. Most desist, and many come out as homosexual later. Please support a conservative approach that does the least harm to developing children.

STOP transing kids. Send them to therapy to learn to love themselves and their bodies as is.

The problem should be attacked from the grammatical point of view: sex ≠ gender.
