Open Letter on Abuse in Foursquare

Today is a good day and Foursquare is making things right. Thanks to Randy Remington and the leaders who have spent countless hours to do what is right. I rejoice in how God is using Foursquare. Come Holy Spirit.

This is not the place for gaslighting. If you’re going to do that at least have the decency to not hide behind a made up name. He had his credentials revoked. You don’t get that revoked if you’re not doing anything. Just say’n.

I attended LPU Ignite when Mike was leading it. Never had him be inappropriate, sexual, or suggestive. Power? He was kind and pushed us to seek God will all our hearts and he believed in us. Power? Yeah get off our butts and study and serve others, that was his push. Never heard him say or do any do the things talked about here.

I am heart broken that our Foursquare Leadership has chosen to repeatedly ignore the cries for help from victims and allowed those responsible to remain in positions of authority where they could continue to inflict harm on others. How is this consistent with anything we believe? It must grieve our Lord greatly. We cry out for revival. It has to start with us in open repentance. We must move to right the wrongs. We must take responsibility and reach out to victims and provide the resources they need. Without repentance, revival will not come.

I was the executive director and camp manager at Old Oak Ranch. The last few years I was there I was abused and mistreated.

This is totally sickening. That as I just found out about this a few days ago. This isn’t okay Foursquare please release a open statement beyond just connection. There are damaged people who are hurting some may never attend church again. Or let alone carry hurt and etc.

Wholeheartedly in agreement with this article and the protection of the body of Christ and biblical accountability and responsibilities of leadership.

My story of abuse happened in 1983-1985. The abuser was sent to LIFE Bible college while I stayed home to finish high school. No counseling for me, but a degree and license for childrens ministry for my abuser.

Anyone who ever worked with Larkin dealt with his abuse, demeaning nature, taking advantage of the system to feather his nest and model narcissism in front of many. His antics were known and leadership did nothing about it far before Heidi was in the picture.

The same should be said for men and women like Paul Risser, Dennis Easter, Tammy Dunahoo, Ralph Torres, Billy Calderwood and Justice Coleman who have done similar destructive things to faithful Foursquare leadership/Pastors in search of their own power and personal kingdoms. We must no longer tolerate the abuses of such failed leadership.

I know for some, the idea of reporting abuse they have suffered to Foursquare would seem counterintuitive and even scary. However, an email address has been set up for anyone affiliated with the Foursquare church/Ignite to do just that. May God be glorified

This is heartbreaking. Praying for the Holy Spirit to convict all who were complicit in covering this up, for adequate resources/support/validation for the victims, and for Foursquare to own this and commit to much needed change.

I am signing this petition with the hope that we can adjust our paradigm of dealing with leadership failures. Additionally, I refuse to be pulled into a binary trap of demonizing perpetrators — but instead believe that speaking truth to those in power both affirms victim's voices and gives space for those in power to heal. These are difficult times, but we should resolve in our hearts and minds to take courageous steps to walk in the truth (like Heidi has done).

Yes! Amen! There is so much more and now is the time for it to be revealed and addressed.

Shocked and appalled

Abusers should never be shielded from responsibility, not their acts covered up in favor of praise.

Enough is enough. Please do not sweep this under the rug.
