By going after this teacher, you're killing freedom of speech in this country.

Freedom of speech must be sacred, particularly when it comes to a just cause that involves justice. I fully support Nadia. Samah Idriss, Phd, Columbia University, 1991

I know Nadia since childhood. Her brother was my best friend. Never once in her life had she participated in a terrorist act. Her parents terrorised by the death squads of the Zionist entity had left their home in 1948 and became refugees in Lebanon. In her early teens She became a refugee again when the elements of the Zionist entity overran the Palestinian camp that shelltered her family. She took shelter in Canada. Nadia is only telling her story. I feel sorry for the school that terminated Nadia. Just remember, when the holocaust ended for the Jews, the Holocaust started for the Palestinians. Paelstinians still until this date 70 years later still live in concentration camps. In particular in Lebanon where Palestinians are not allowed to work, have no access to health care, not allowed in public schools but allowed to live in prison like camps with no civil rights or freedom. They one of them is lucky enough to come to Canada and made the mistake of telling her story. The school should be ashamed and Canada is disgraced. NOT RIGHT for many of my friends please sign of the petition.

Ms Shoufani shows courage in speaking out about justice and human rights for Palestinians. She should not be silenced for speaking truth to power.

B'nai Brith does NOT speak for me. The ongoing Israeli occupation and the persecution of Palestinians must end. Critics of the State of Israel must be applauded for their courage to speak truth to power. May Palestinians receive full access to justice and human rights, soon.

Les propos haineux font rage en Israël, impunément, sur la place publique... C'est de la pure hypocrisie de se le cacher, comme le fait B'nait Brith. Les exemples de propos épouvantables tenus par des Israéliens font llégion. POURQUOI CETTE HYPOCRISIE DE B'NAITH BRITH ? ex. : Juin 2016 : https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Fa5i4VV3qH4&feature=youtu.be --- Mars 2016 : http://www.jpost.com/Israel-News/Activists-gather-for-controversial-Tel-Aviv-rally-to-support-IDF-shooter-451709 --- Décembre 2015 https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=t3h8FEvGNQg&feature=youtu.be

I call upon this school board to revisit this dubious suspension and to conduct fair and adequate research into the matter.

Suspending a teacher for expressing her views in a private forum is unlawful. The school board should be referred to a tribunal. Israel's occupation of the Palestinian people in a crime, its administrative detention of children sentenced without their parents in military court is illegal as are the settlements built on stolen Palestinian land. Ms Choufani should speak to the prime minister directly to intervene.

We live in the 21st century. As prime minister Trudeau said because it is 2016. Freedom of speech is not arbitrary and responsible journalism is essential in a democracy. ESL teacher Nadia Shoufani should be re-instated immediately.

I sign this in my personal capacity as an individual and a lawyer who firmly believes in human rights and freedom of speech. It is time that the Charter is taken seriously by employers, policy makers and our political leaders.

The School Board should be pleased that Ms Shoufani actively supports the campaign for justice and human rights for an oppressed, and should immediately reinstate her. It should also take careful note of the aims and methods of the organizations that led the Board into its original decision, and ensure that it is not misled into such an egregious error again.

Dufferin-Peel Catholic District School Board’s cowardly decision to suspend Ms. Shoufani from her job. How many pro-israel activist have lost their jobs supporting the settler colonialist murderous state of Israel?

As former president of the Dawson Teachers' Union and a teacher for 41 years, I condemn this cowardly and baseless bullying of Nadia Shoufani. It is a disgrace to public education.

Freedom of speech is a human right

Truth and #BDS are the only things that work against Israeli propaganda which is so richly funded by North America. I guess stifling free speech, in a vain attempt to stifle truth, is all they have.

As a teacher and educator committed to the values of freedom of speech and social justice, I am very alarmed by the anti-democratic decision of the Dufferin-Peel Catholic District School Board's to suspend teacher Nadia Shoufani. Canada is about freedom of speech and democracy and not about suppression of citizens' rights.
