If the rule of law applies to all equally, Ms. Shoufani should be not be penalized for expressing her rights, freedom of speech.

It is time the Canadian Government and all its Public & Private institutions recognize that Israel is a pure repetition of South African Aparthied. It is time that Canada should raise the BDS flag

Canada consistently denies the right to express the political point of view of anti-occupation/anti-apartheid of the Palestinian people who are indigenous of the land, when really it is our right to express our political views. SHAME, Canada, SHAME!!

Let's at least act like a democracy.

This in my view is clear case of a conservative school board being lassoed by Zionist propaganda. One would hope that they do some research and realize just how valuable Ms. Shoufani is a teacher for the future of peace in the middle-east and by extension, in N. America, too.

These attempts to stifle freedom of expression are a sign of desperation.

It's a shame to see a teacher suspended for doing her job - to speak the truth on the things which matter. It would be an even greater shame if the school board does not rectify their mistake.

It disgusts me to think this issue has gone even this far. I would expect more from a country which defends itself as a free and open country for all. To put a teacher through all this for having her own political beliefs is beyond a violation of her rights. This is an insult to every free citizen

To be punished for defending basic human is beyond comprehension. She should be nominated as a model teacher!

This spring I attended John Kostoff's retirement celebration. He spoke of his teachers being the sparkling points of light in the sea of DPCDSB. In mid July I was in The Vatican and passed through the Jubilee Doors into St Peters. A special Jubilee Year Of Mercy called for by Pope Francis. That night in Rome l read of this action against Nadia Shoufani. I feel leadership in DPCDSB does not reflect the Pope's philosophy, especially in this special Jubilee Year Of Mercy. Nor does it reflect the tolerant, generous, loving spirit of Catholic social teaching. I write as someone who has walked in Palestinian shoes on several occasions with Catholic clergy in Palestine.

Have you no sense of decency? Please stop kowtowing to these thinly disguised hate groups and reinstate Ms. Shoufani at once!

For a country that professes to be a supporter of free speech, this is a poor way of showing it!
