I worked(and lived) on Ross Brockley's farm a few years back. I'm jewish(and gay), and when he found out, it did not go down well. His rants would sometimes last for hours- his bigotry is astounding.

I have read every single signature and comment on this petition and it fills me with anguish as I try to make sense of it all. I am assuming you all know Ross Brockley? And you have all been personally offended by him? That all of you are afraid to shop at Open Harvest because you feel you are in danger? And surely you have spoken directly to this individual about how he makes you feel to no avail? Right? In your zeal to “stop the hate”, do you hear how you sound? Calling names and dragging an individual through the mud in a public space does not seem like the best way to achieve this.

Good luck, Hope you Remember the Racist Joe Biden’s famous quote "If you have a problem figuring out whether you're for me or Trump, then you Ain't Black," translation, If You Don’t Vote for Me, ‘You Ain’t Black’, So you “ain’t” black if you vote for Trump? That’s embarrassing and a slap in the face to all black voters. Think about that before you vote.

Ross has not been on the board since Nov 2019. He is no longer a member of the Coop and last week Open Harvest issued a statement and banned Ross from the store.

By failing to cut ties with Ross Brockley and disavow his behavior you're allowing him a platform to perpetuate his disgusting and ignorant views. Being complicit in Ross's perpetuation of hate makes you equally responsible, this is unacceptable.

Oh do you speak Hebrew? Because many of the protesters who were there did. Lol it wasn’t Hebrew. Also I think maybe the years of harassment by management to employees is also pretty traumatic but idk

This is unacceptable behavior. I no longer live in Lincoln, but grew up there, and I have shopped there many times. I’m am deeply saddened to know people were treated in this manner. This MUST stop!!

Read the store's statement. No products have been there for years. Ross Brockley has not been a board member since last November and was off the board before this issue came to the board.

Visit open harvests website. Have a conversation with management. All demands have been met. I’ve looked into their actions in response to this petition. They have been rolling out action plans since the beginning of July. Board chair stepped down. They publicly denounced the issues surrounding a previous board member. They have held several meetings with staff. Anti-racism training is being administered by an entity outside of the board. They have publicly spoken out about their own faults in the mishandling of the situation and taken responsibility for their previous silence.
What demand has not been met?

Most of the lines being drawn here are false. There is a lot of anger and hate from employees who were miserable before during and after their employment at open harvest. I encourage you to dig deeper into this matter.
Thank you.

You should definitely still shop there. The co op is a beautiful place that has taken real action to support several small local businesses on a platform that reaches more people than a farm stand. They are not perfect but have continued to grow their understanding of community needs and have continuously worked to become something better than they have been in the past. Open harvest is full of good people. Don’t get lost in this misguided hate
Agreed....
