Bicycle use between Mill Valley and Corte Madera could certainly be more pleasant and safer. What do the horse owners think?

I recently became pregnant and plan to continue biking up until 6 months of pregnancy. Now that I am pregnant, I definitely prefer my full-suspension mountain bike over my road bike. It's also nice to be away from cars while mountain biking. However, I have to ride slower now and avoid steep grades to avoid overheating. There are very few mountain bike trails in Marin that don't have steep grades. I would love to see more trail options for mountain biking in Marin.
I would also like to see more trail connectivity in Marin. As much as possible, I like to bike from my house to the trail to avoid car pollution. It's easier to do this when trail systems are connected. I also hike, but prefer mountain biking so I can avoid using my car to get to trails. Very few trailheads have secure bike parking available.
I live in Corte Madera and Ring Mountain is the only trail system close enough to walk to. While mountain bikes are allowed on the fire roads there, access roads are too steep to try and get there without a car. The fire roads there are also pretty steep to ride - it is very rare for me to ever encounter mountain bikers there, even though they are allowed.
If there are concerns about the Bob Middagh trail being too narrow to accommodate bikes, why not widen it a bit? Maybe some invasive vegetation like French Broom could be pulled to create a bit more space? Two good things could be accomplished at once. I would be happy to volunteer time to help with any trail-widening efforts if needed.

Seems like a no brainer, by the way, I've been riding that trail for 25 years and 'Nimbyism ' should not be a factor in a simple decision!

Mountain Bikes were summarily banned from nearly all single track in Marin in 1982. 32 years of institutional discrimination by Marin's land managers is enough!
