Please do not be deterred by anti-bike sentiment. Mixed use trails work, and many, many land managers in other parts of our state and country embrace it. Marin county is in the dark ages and it's time to move forward on access for bikes.

As a hiker, runner and cyclist I support multi use trails I'm Marin. The current rules don't work!

It's much safer for everyone for bikes to be on trails than on streets. Unless we are willing to invest in proper bike lanes...AND enforcement of share-the-road basic traffic safety...it is absolutely essential that we provide shared access on these trails to bikers.

Exclusion of mountain bikes was auspiciously based upon old assumptions on erosion and some self-serving view about how nature should be experienced. Well the erosion issues, and eh effect of mountain biking have been shown to be in error. Now we are just preserving usage for a select few who want things their way and refuse to share.

I am a 20+ year Marin County Resident hiker, Sierra Club and Nature Conservancy member in full support of full, safe, considerate and mindful access for bikes on this and many other trails (including Mt. Tam) in Marin County! These trails are for ALL users-- Horses, Hikers, AND bikes. It's time to stop the bickering and open up equal access for all the Recreational users of Marin!

Riding on trails is much safer than riding on the road. Trails like the Bob Middagh Trail can be linked to form safe commuting routes through the community for those of us who want to reduce our carbon footprint.

We need more safe trails in Marin that can be shared with cyclists, especially one like this that provides an alternative to Camino Alto. More bike travel is better for the environment and growing volumes of traffic.

Bikes are wonderful and should be promoted. They make anyone feel like a kid again. Never understand those against biking.
