The government wants to micromanipulate your healthcare.  If they decide that your test is not medically necessary, then you will have to leave Ontario and pay for it out of your own pocket.

Now is the time to make your voice heard!  Did you know that, without your knowledge, the government has already implemented the following:

• Cuts that fund the very program that has helped over 2.1 million patients find a family doctor;
• Cuts that fund the programs that have increased the number of hours worked by doctors on weekends and evenings;
• Cuts that fund the services that doctors provide to the elderly and those with chronic diseases, while claiming that it is seeking to enhance chronic and senior care; 
• No new funding to pay the 700 new physicians that will begin practicing this year; and
  
• No new funding to pay for the increase in demand of physicians for the growing aging population
  

The government will now decide who should receive coverage for diagnostic tests such as
CT scans, MRIs, and X-rays.

If you want a test and they decide that it is not
medically necessary, then how do you know
you don't have an underlying cancer
or other serious problem? 
Worse yet, you won't even be allowed to pay
to get the test in Ontario.

The new healthcare agenda means that:

• Your physicians may be forced to significantly cut services in their practices;
• Ontario will find it much harder to recruit and retain doctors;
• Longer wait times for most services will be inevitable, given our growing and aging population which places increased demands on our healthcare system;
• Finding a family doctor and seeing a specialist will take even longer, if you can find one at all; and
• Physicians, and especially new graduates, will be more likely to leave and set up practice outside Ontario, making our doctor shortage worse 

The government is not willing to negotiate in good faith, and prefers to scapegoat physicians as an example to other public sector workers, rather than engage in meaningful dialogue.
