Trucks & Commercial vehicles in Ontario only require one plate to be visible so why should it be different for passenger cars? Drop the front plate and save us all some money.

There is no good reason to have two license plates on a car. It would likely save money (only need to manufacture half as many). The auto manufacturers wouldn't need to make special arrangements for the Ontario market. Any naysayers only need to look at the example of Quebec.

It's an unfair law - vehicles from states or provinces requiring no front plates do not get charged even though they drive in Ontario. Either charge every vehicle in Ontario roads, or don't charge any one for having no front plates. It's a nuisance law. Get rid of it!

I have pushed this for years. Spoke with the past chief of police, the minister and I have gone to court to fight it. Just ruins certain exotic car looks.

Save owners from having to buy new plates every 4 years since protective covers are illegal.

I feel it should be up to the owner of each vehicle to decide if they would like a front plate or not. I have heard very good reasons why they are necessary. Why ruin the cosmetics of an automobile for next to no reason?
