The land is currently enriching the lives of Baltimore residents rather than the pockets of a developer. Let the young people have a positive relationship with the land in their city. They just might grow some Baltimore pride!

On behalf of my mother, resident of 1905 Barclay Street - 2 blocks away from the farm. She asked me to relay in comments (due to limited English writing abilities) how important it was for her to find green space and opportunity to be actively involved in farm planting and to buy vegetable shares. As a recent transplant in USA from Russia and missing green spaces and gardening of home country, this connection made if possible for her to stay in urban Baltimore area and make new friends and feel an active and relevant part of community.
