One, We Are is a campaign dedicated to breaking down the isolation of elderly people and people of other cultures in Kingston Upon Thames. As part of our campaign, we are petitioning Kingston Council to continue the funding it gives to the Milaap Centre.

Milaap is a multi cultural day centre for elderly people in Kingston and the surrounding boroughs. For the past 25 years, Milaap have been providing regular activities and day trips for up to 70 older people, all of whom love the centre and would likely become isolated without it. However, in March 2016, Kingston Council plan to hold a review of the funding they give to Milaap, and could potentially decide to withdraw it altogether. Without this funding, the centre will be forced to close.

Because of this, we are asking you to sign this petition urging Kingston Council to continue funding Milaap, so that they can keep up the great work that they have been doing for the last quarter of a century.
