Abronhill, within Cumbernauld deserves to have a unique & modern looking shopping centre to allow the community to enjoy & converse in a socially & leisurely manner, and to allow the people the right to shop in a modern and enjoyable environment. The Shopping centre has been at the heart of Abronhill's community for decades, and has been used by the community due to its ideal locality, but sadly the condition of the centre has deteriorated considerably over time. Abronhill centre offers its customers valuable consumer goods and excellent local amenities, but the experience of shopping here leaves a bitter taste with the vast majority of Abronhill’s customers. OneSmallStep: believes that 'we all' are entitled to have a shopping centre that rivals other centres, we believe that it should make Abronhill a 'choice location for families within and out with the locality of Abronhill, to support the traders and achieve further attraction from potentially new traders with the aim of bringing improved and much needed new shops to the area. We also believe that the centre should reflect the vibrancy, the strengths and the hopes of the people of Cumbernauld. At the moment it does very little in the way of making the community proud and spirited regarding the condition and dilapidated state of the shopping centre. To achieve this, we need to come together, support this cause and show our displeasure at those responsible. What seems at present to be a shopping centre with little or no signs of becoming anything more than evidence that the communities needs are being ignored and left unanswered, strongly implicates that all the other shopping centres in North Lanarkshire continue to represent the modernity of the 21st century and allow their local community the facilities they deserve. Lets make this our priority too, Lets work together to get Abronhill on the map for superior facilities, pleasant and enjoyable shopping experiences that will rival other shops for quality and boast a modern looking, clean and attractive environment .
