The Board of Education finally came to their senses and kept our community together. They stopped the reckless plan to force our kids away from their home schools. We forced them to admit that neighborhood stability matters more than their flawed boundary lines.

Final supporters
The Howard County Board of Education in the 2013 feasibility study emphasizes that, "Every effort is made to create "neighborhood" school attendance areas by assigning students to the school that is closest to their home”.
* To keep the current school attendance area for Haddon Hall and Wallington at Murray Hill and for it to be established as our "home" middle school.
* To alter the current school attendance area for Haddon Hall and Wallington so that they can join the rest of the Emerson community in attending Altholton High School and to establish it as the "home" high school.
* To keep the Emerson community (polygons 5, 272, 1005, 1272 & 2005) as one because the arbitrary boundary of I-95 does not create two distinct communities.
* To adhere to the Board of Education's effort to keep neighborhood school attendance areas that are closest to their homes.
This petition will be mailed (in snail and email) to the Howard County Board of Education by September 21, 2013. If you support our efforts to remain at our home school, and create a One Emerson School Boundary, please add your signature below, and share with others.

The Board of Education is trying to split our neighborhood in half just to suit their own convenience. We are inches away from reaching one hundred signatures so get this link to your neighbors right now to show these bureaucrats that we will not be broken up.

Keeping kids in their neighborhood is better for everyone. stop complicating things for families.
My kids walk to Murray Hill now. Making them take a bus further away makes zero sense when the neighborhood school is right there.
3 miles is a long way for a middle schooler to commute when the other one is practically in our backyard. please leave the boundary alone
Ridiculous plan. Keep the community together and stop moving kids around for no reason.
We bought our house specifically for this school cluster. DO NOT change this on us!
