I grew up going to this camp and came back as a counselor once I outgrew the program. I have wanted my little sister to be able to enjoy this camp the same way that I did, and now I'm scared that she is never going to have the opportunity. This place is more than some cabins and trees. It represents sisterhood, adventure, lifelong memories, and lifelong friends. With everything in my heart, please do not sell our camp. Give my sister the chance to discover herself here the same way that so many of us have been lucky to. Camp Winding River is always going to be a part of what makes me me, and I hope with everything I have that more girls get to say the same.

Camp Winding River has been the place where thousands of girls build leadership skills and learn about the importance of nature and community. Please don't take that away.

The outdoor experience is a huge component of Girl Scouting. All our girls talk about is the one summer they got to go to Pot Hills daycamp. They had it ripped away from them last summer....let’s do this the right way and give our members proper notice. Honestly the Boy Scouts have recruited girls heavily at our school and as we know they have awesome outdoor activities. Troops will need to compete for fewer slots for troop camping and the few events that are offered at camp fill up fast. We went to Adventure Rock for climbing since all of the GSWISE properties were full. Please explain how the properties are underutilized?

My girl scouts are so disappointed that they will not be able to continue going to the camp they love. This was always the best week of summer.

Outdoor program on Girl Scout properties are critical to the services we provide girl members and adult volunteer. Each and every one of us has grown because of our camp experiences in Courage, Confidence and Character. These properties must be saved.

It is so short-sited to sell camp properties. These are places where girl scout troops can conveniently camp and use. Such a shame!!

Camps are so important. They teach independence, they teach you how to work as a patrol or unit, you learn helpful camping tricks, you swim and canoe,
you learn to appreciate nature and you make friends for life.

Girl Scout camp holds a special place in my heart, as well as in my daughter's. It provides the opportunity to build so many relationships while learning important skills. Please allow the camps to go on at least one more Summer. So much has already been taken from the girls this year. Please give them one more chance to enjoy the wonderful experiences and memories. Give the leaders time to create a suitable alternative for future years.

I would also line to see one last summer at Pot Hills. That gives Camp directors enough notice to start planning out other options for the following year so that girls who have looked forward to camp and had it taken from them at the last minute last summer don’t have to go without again.

Please reconsider closing Winding River! What a wonderful property. I’ve volunteered with my daughters troop for 6 years and have seen firsthand how all the girls love it there. My oldest is now a PA and was so looking forward to teaching young girls everything she learned at that camp.

Please stop selling the camps. The girls and future generations need this. Please reconsider- follow what's right vs. the quick money exchange.
