I agree there should be one Eid. However, as I look at the common trends for the petition I see comments talking putting their "egos away for once" and blaming the "Community leaders". However, although the history of the issues should not reflect the current situation of Eid. Many are uninformed about the Eid situation and the talks that community leaders had in the past about joining the Eids. Also, from the names that I have recognized very few have participated in the preparations for Eid in either community. When facing the reality, we must first act, then request change. By getting involved in the community for those who believe in the unity of "one Eid" need to become the part of the community leaders. Lastly, as a Muslim, a mosque should be like your second home, and in your homes, you don't talk about your family problems on Facebook which only embarrasses your family. The people in both mosques are your brothers and sisters, including both community leaders. I do agree in the unification of Eid. However, I do not believe in putting our home issues on full blast... To create change, get involved, become a leader, not just a petition signer. May Allah(SWT) reward you all for your intentions and hope to all see you in one Eid!!!

One eid prayer would be great. There would also not be a duplication of costs. So more money can be used by the masjids for other purposes.

Given the growth of our community, it makes sense to have 2 or more mosques. However, we should have one Eid prayer as a sign of a united community

Having more than one masjid makes sense for a community our size but there is absolutely no rationale for having more than one Eid. How about the community "leaders" put their egos aside and do the right thing for once.
