Don’t let angry, screaming, white leftists take away every single example of native iconography. Leave it to the “tolerant” folks to tell you that you’re not allowed to glorify a heritage in the name of pride.

I am so proud of not only my Indian heritage, but also the amazing memories I have had as a Union Redskin. The power and drive not only in athletics, but also in the classrooms should make any other Native proud. I am proud to be a Redskin and I hope those involved with the possible name change can see this as well.

I went to 3 different high schools and their mascots were Plainsmen, Braves, and Redskins. Having Native American blood myself, I was honored to be all three.

Union has been Redskins for long time. The name was started by Native American Indians, no one looks at the name as being bad but of as of great honor! Always have I support leaving the name as is.

I will always be a Union Redskin. Changing the mascot will not make people happy. People will always find something that offends them. What ever you change the mascot to it will offend somebody.

Do not change the name of the mascot. It was given to the school by native Americans in 1944 or 45 and is a symbol of pride and honor for all Native Americans.
