Please do this, for my current students, and for the ones to come!

When I reflect back on my time on Allegheny, I felt that the institution could have done better to be inclusive/address racist structures. Now, I KNOW you all can do better. Do better.

Another alum put it best: "Your statement was lazy and pandered to the majority-white student and donor base. Had I handed that in for a grade, I would have failed the assignment. Do better."

Class of 2013 There are more Black and brown students in Allegheny's marketing materials than there are on campus at any given time. My hope is that someday the reality of the student body catches up to the image of those glossy brochures, and that the college's support for those historically underrepresented students goes beyond mere words.

The lack of recognition of the loss of Black lives and the consequences of institutional racism is shameful of this college and its leadership. Admits continued outcry’s against police brutality and larger systemic racist principles, policies, and institutions, Allegheny College, which directly benefits from so much of this systemic oppression barely scratched the surface of the issue and offered a blanket statement.
