It's unfair to ask black children who are leaving their homes, possibly for the firtst time, to solve a problem you ignored for 200 years. Stand up, make a bold stance against racism and be better!

We can do better than this. As a white kid, from a rural backwater, I had a lot of enlightening experiences regarding race, religion, etc while at Allegheny, but almost none of them came from the institution itself (except from Dr. Caballero! She was amazing at teaching white kids to consider histories outside their own narrative). It’s time to do better, to have the mechanics of our school work toward progress instead of just paying lip service to the idea. Stand up, speak out, and give EVERYONE currently enrolled the challenge to question their perspectives and shape a generation of vehemently anti-racist activists.
