Omid Dana is one of the social and political activists who were arrested in first week of February in Iran when the people of Iran were demanding their Human Rights and for their votes to count. He was convicted three days later by the Islamic Revolutionary Court to be hanged.

He was tortured and forced to give false confessions. The torture he suffered included being hung by his feet from the ceiling and being beaten with electrical cables to the point where he was no longer able to walk. Throughout his imprisonment, he was kept in solitary confinement and savagely tortured.

Omid Dana was also strongly involved in celebrating the Iranian New Year at Pasargadae, where the tomb of Cyrus the Great is located. He has devoted most of his young life to promoting social justice and human rights in Iran.

We, the undersigned, are demanding the release of Omid Dana and other political prisoners who have been wrongfully imprisoned, tortured and raped in the dreadful jails of Islamic Republic of Iran. We would like for the International Human Rights organization and the United Nation to demand the release of Dana and all political prisoners who might be executed in the turbulent days to come.
