It would be wonderful to have an Olympic Equestrian Center here in California. We would then be able to attend the event instead of only watching it on TV. This would also enable up to see the whole competition instead of mostly selected highlights.

Horses and Equine sports are beneficial in so many ways and a large part of our economy.
An International Competition site and training facility would be a huge draw for riders and spectators alike and would help us to field better, more experienced competitors and teams for the US in International competions such as the Olympics, World Cup etc. We have the quality to win on the International stage, but we need the training and a facility such as CEPEC would do a lot to advance that, as well as providing a venue to bring that level of competition to Sonoma County. I don’t think I’m able to express how extremely popular such a venue would be.
The horse industry is much larger than one would think ; there are so many different disciplines, and so many dedicated riders, owners, trainers, workers and enthusiasts it would be hard to overstate the popularity of such a facility, the draw it would have, and the benefits it would provide.

I support the proposal for CEPEC to acquire the land surrounding the main campus of the Sonoma Development Center in the Sonoma Valley.
