Carers in Oldham are currently entitled to apply for and claim a carers individual budget on an annual basis via The Carers Centre but under plans approved by Oldham Council this will be scrapped as part of the ongoing cost cutting exercise across Oldham. Many carers rely heavily on this budget to provide access to some much deserved respite and without family carers, Oldham Council would face millions of pounds in additional costs to provide care services locally.
