I live within about 5 minutes of this area and have been sad to see how much the environment has deteriorated due to waste over the past two years especially, Fires are also started here, which are a very significant danger.

Please help us enforce respect for these neighborhoods. This takeover is ridiculous. We work hard to live here and deserve to enjoy our neighborhood.

The creek is the main source of water that replenishes Quarry lakes, Niles and Shinn ponds and our ground water aquifer. It needs to be protected.

Too many fires that have threatened our safety & homes. Areas trash laden / feces laden that attract rodents , etc.

Clean our area up and stop allowing those motor home caravans from vandalizing our parks and streets.

There are a lot of people in Fremont, especially here in Niles, that are getting increasingly alarmed by the growth in homelessness here. I did some research and saw that the 2019 homeless census showed 608 homeless here. If you look at the recent analyses you will see that homeless numbers have doubled over the past 2 years putting the Fremont count today at well over 1,000 with, according to the numbers on the 2019 census, about 10% being veterans. The Housing Navigation Center in Fremont has room for only 44 people at a time !!!!! Plus the eviction moratorium is about to expire... There is a special program (see https://youtu.be/9VLXErQX8oQ ) from the state that has made $600m available for housing homeless veterans. I reached out to the City's Housing Department asking if the City had applied for any of these funds. They replied that they do not apply for these funds but that developers do. I find this laissez-faire approach disastrous. We should be looking after these veterans, many of whom suffer from PTSD. David Price

The city has not done anywhere enough to find ways to help the homeless. They seem to constantly wait for Sacramento to do something. What have they done with the multi-million dollar grant they were entitled to use from the state to help the homeless. We need to have outreach to a) find every homeless vet and get them housed b) find every homeless person that has significant mental illness and find facilities to get them treated and c) have dedicated areas (distanced from schools and home tracts) with services (including guidance and counseling) for the temporary use by working homeless living in RVs. In addition the city planners need to get serious about making truly affordable housing part of developments rather than the developers paying "in-lieu" fees. I hope this petition will kick start our City Council to do a more thorough job of oversight of the city management.

This also affects the property values. This information will have to be disclosed to potential home buyers and would probably cause them to consider other areas.
