This bill will drain our public education system of much-nended funds. Public money should not be used to support unregulated private schools, most of which teach a religious curriculum. So 609 is bad for public schools. It's bad for Oklahoma.

In the midst of yet another a budget shortfall, with schools already operating on a skeleton budget, this bill is not in the best interests of all the children in the state. Taking money away from public schools will require these institutions to increase already large class sizes because they will be tasked with the requirement to maintain current operations with even less funding. Speaking as an educator with more than twelve years experience, I always have and will continue to support a free and appropriate education for all students in our state.

Our public schools are already underfunded and suffering, we don't want any more money being funneled away via vouchers to private schools. I have daughters who are gifted, but I believe in our public schools. Give to our schools, stop taking away from them.
