To whom it may concern…I am writing you today to plead with you to please make stiffer laws and punishments concerning animal abuse. I live next door to people who abuse their pets and have contacted the dog warden of my county and she was unable to do anything because of laws concerning this. This is unacceptable to me. How would you like to have to live by someone who leaves their dog tied outside all the time and kicks at it whenever they walk by it? It gets tangled around their porch posts and must set in one spot until they come and untangle it. It only gets food and water whenever they want to feed it and howls because it is starving. Not a pleasant thing to hear…a dog starving to death. What an awful life to have to live. Ohio - really EVERY STATE – NEEDS to change their laws concerning abuse. Right now…an animal is considered to be “sheltered” if it is under a tree or by a fence…would you consider this shelter for your pets or children for that matter?! It infuriates me how these laws are so ridiculously laxed! I don’t even like to go to go shopping when it is hot out for fear of seeing an animal die from an overheated car! These laws NEED to change! They need to be tougher on animal abusers and the fines and punishments need to be really stiff! Please change the laws concerning the welfare of these animals – we have to be the ones to do it for them as they cannot speak for themselves! Thank you and please do something about this!
