This is an unprecedented attempt to blackmail people who love skiing and spending time in our beloved mountain. There is no other resort to my knowledge that does not offer a season pass but a 1/3 of a season pass. Also for even less than the price offered one could buy a lift pass valid for all Tirol in the Austrian Alps - numerous ski resorts and thousands of slopes and lifts. I wont even mention prices for seasonal passes in the US.
For a long time now, me and my friends are talking about this, and noone listnens... Finaly there is a adequate responce from the riders :)

One of the reasons I love spending the season in Bansko is that I can easily go out the mountain to meet friends for an hour without spending the whole day up there. The season pass allowed me to do this!

what a poor, poor decision! 340 BGL=160E are the minimum wages in Bulgaria and the are asking for 1500BGL=750E for 40 days of lift pass!!! Hello, Earth is calling.

Last season the local people willingly gave up lots of their time to help Ulen petition for the 2nd gondola and protested outside the OMV garage on several occasions. This year Ulen decided to repay them for their generosity by more or less telling them the don’t want them on the mountain. I wonder if they will have the balls to ask for assistance for anything this season!! The 40 day premium pass is a joke, the price is an even bigger joke. These prices are more than any European & probably American prices for a ‘full’ season, and most of those resorts outdo Bansko by about 200kms! I’m not sure there are many people who would willingly pay that sort of money to be able to ski for a third of a season. That’s like asking someone to pay the price of 7 nights accommodation and letting them stay for any 2 nights of the 7, the sweetener is that it doesn’t have to be 2 consecutive nights! I read somewhere that this decision was based on the numbers of people buying seasons passes last season and how many days on average they used them. I’m afraid I don’t think that is a fair comparison. There were lots of people who didn’t buy a seasons pass last season, myself included, because they couldn’t (and wouldn’t) justify paying the huge increase Ulen put on the passes. It would be interesting to see the official figures of how many seasons passes were bought last season and how many the season before! In most other European countries a company increasing their prices by 50% would have a riot on their hands! But not only did they get away with that, this year they are well and truly rubbing the salt into the wound.
