I am part of a respectful community of dog owners that exercise their dogs in the south east corner of Timbrell Park where there are little or no other people and well away from the sports play areas. We self-regulate on waste disposal and "police" respectful use of the grounds where only dog owners spend time. A formal policy around appropriate use of that area for off leash use is in the interests of the whole community.

Timbrall park is the perfect area for responsible off leash dogs & owners. Lots of open space away from roads & pedestrians. The sporting fields are only in use late afternoons & weekends which means most of the time the park is empty. The area has such limited areas for off lead dogs it really needs this.

Dogs have never and will never do any harm by being off leash at such a quiet park. A large majority of it's use in the day is for dog walking and not much else.

This park is an ideal off leash area. It’s a huge area with plenty of space for everyone. It’s usually empty on a weekday morning

Would love to exercise my dog off leash at Timbrell Park. There is plenty of space for everyone, even when it is being used for sports.

This is a huge park with swamp land within so not the most used sporting ground. It makes sense for dogs to be allowed off leash when sport is not being played.

Its important for dogs (& puppies) to socialise freely here at Timbrell. This fosters a great community spirit with local dog owners. (not in a closed-off pen for small dogs only)
