God’s magnificent animal the horse , will do unnatural acts of courage in his endeavor to please his human partner that he has chosen to bond with and regard as his heard leader and best friend .

My equine partner has served his community for 10 years, to include working crowd control during civil unrest in 2020. He has also located children lost in the high desert, done presidential security detail, and escorted medics through crowded events. Fortunately he has never been injured, but some of his teammates have during service. They should be honored if their life is sacrifed during a LOD.

This should happen, them and K9s are key in the LEO life.

Officer Down Memorial Page serves as an important way to honor the sacrifice and service of law enforcement officers, and police horses deserve that same recognition. My wife serves on a mounted unit, and I have seen firsthand the amount of work, dedication, and care that goes into that role. Mounted officers form a deep bond with their horses through countless hours of training, grooming, and working side by side in difficult and dangerous situations. These horses are not simply equipment or tools they are partners, protectors, and members of the law enforcement family. When a police horse is lost in the line of duty or after years of faithful service, they deserve to be remembered and honored for the sacrifices they made alongside the officers they served with.
