Title Protection for the term “Social worker”
We the undersigned, support the protection of the title “social worker” in the County of Orange.
Title protection would ensure that the individual referred to by the county as a "social worker" possesses a social work degree (BSW or MSW) from a accredited institution.  Title protection for the term "social worker" would also protect the practice of clinical social work throughout the county.

Failure to protect the title “social worker” undermines the quality of care rendered to the vulnerable populations that the profession pledges to serve. The absence of title protection for social workers risks the stability and integrity of the profession’s standing with the public.
