This must be done...with all that's going on nationwide, our OKCPD needs Body Cams on each patrolling officer.

Body cams will protect both citizens and police. If there is concern on the part of the police union regarding supervisors unfairly targeting officers for such things as two minutes too long on a coffee break, may I suggest that the FOP focus its efforts on drawing up a set of departmental policies and procedures that limit that sort of supervisory over-reach. There is surely a path whereby officers' rights are upheld while continuing to protect the public from the bad apples on the force.

How about a law to go with it that says if these body cams are found in an investigation to have been mysteriously turned off it will result in an immediate non-negitioable termination of the officer in question?

Please get this resolved for the sake of safety for all. I would like everything between the police and the public interaction to be recorded. Before we look any more ridiculous for buying but not implementing such a simple device.

It is both reckless and questionable as to why the OCPD are not wearing body cams. Their use would serve as proof that there is nothing to hide.
