Do you support making Ocean City MD more pet friendly year-round? There is so much our OCMD city council can do to make our pets and their families feel more welcome all year. Our goal is to allow pets on the beach during the summer, before 9am and after 6pm till dusk. Following existing city ordinances including leash laws, registering your dog with the City and acquiring a license for that day, week, month or season. Many hotels and rentals allow pets, more will follow if there is a demand. Please sign this petition so we may present it to the OC city council.

I have been busy putting together a formal proposal to show the council how many families want to enjoy these mornings and evenings with their dogs by the water. Walking past the restricted beach areas reminds me every single day why I started this effort for our community.

Seeing this level of support for our dogs is moving because it proves that I am not the only one who hates leaving my best friend behind during a beach day. This momentum shows the city council that we are ready to bring our pets to the sand responsibly.

My goodness yes! One year I had the mounted officer come galloping across the beach to tell me my dog wasn't allowed on the beach. It was April 2nd!
How wonderful it would be to have a more dog friendly OC. We vacation in Florida and they are dog friendly most places. I choose my vacation destination around our dogs.

Boynton Beach in Florida set a great example on being pet friendly. They actually have open-air cafes that not only serve humans but have menus for our furry companions as well. I was amazed that no dog there ever barked or growled. All were extremely well behaved and it just made for a lovely environment. Would love to see Ocean City do the same.
