Support Safe Work Environment for OC Drivers

OC Transpo drivers' safety at work is a legitimate concern. We ask that the safety measures offered to employees selling tickets also be offered to drivers; that a safety partition be installed on the buses to separate the drivers from the public.
These partitions have already been implemented in New York and in Winnipeg. The cost is considerably less than the compensation paid to a driver following an incident at work, and is substantially lower than the cost of our next-stop announcement system ($13+ million).
We implore the City Council to take action BEFORE another driver is seriously injured or worse. They are City of Ottawa employees and have the right to a safe work environment.
