I really appreciate the effort but knowing these people, you have to be very careful because when Mugabe unleashes his bulldogs, anything can happen. Don't forget about the MDC 27.Wish you luck.

We thank You. Keep the fire burning. This is a non-partisan effort. We want to see Zimbabwe getting back on the world map for positive reasons. We call upon members of political parties, non-governmental organisations, civic societies, religious groups and peace loving citizens to join us in this struggle. We will never use violence. Our modus operandi is peaceful resistance. Your signature and that of your contacts will send a message to the Zimbabwe Government that the law abiding citizens occupying Africa Unity Square are just a tip of the ice-berg. Dear Fellow Zimbabweans.
I am particularly shocked and dismayed by the silence of the peace loving democrats of Zimbabwe. We are watching and commenting the Occupy Africa Square drama unfolding. We are left in no doubt of the bravery and courage of the Occupy Africa Square proponents, especially Itai Dzamara.
I am therefore encouraging all fellow Zimbabweans in the diaspora to help raise awareness and the plight of these cadres. The following post from Itai Dzamara is calling for you and me to join this noble cause. “NO DEGREE OF BEATING WILL STOP US. We succeeded in using the occasion of opening of parliament to stage our protest about the worsening national crisis and demand for President Mugabe to admit failure as well as pave way for a new plan. However, Zanu PF mobs that had been bused to the Africa Unity Square and specifically assigned with targeting our group, violently and brutally assaulted the three...’
I am now calling upon all peace loving democrats to join the struggle by supporting this noble cause. This is a non-violent protest which does not deserve the Zimbabwe Government heavy handedness. Sign this petition to remind President Mugabe that we all love Zimbabwe. We want to see Zimbabwe working again. This is a non-partisan call. Tendai Kwari - Is Zimbabwe a nation of docile citizens?
One of my favourite books, A Hitchhiker’s guide to a Failed State, describes Zimbabwe as ‘…a nation of docile citizens, they are not imbeciles by any stretch of imagination’. ‘On a fair day, an average Zimbabwean is a mild racist and tribalist who believes in his superiority over other Africans but feels inferior to white people'. Since the invasion of Zimbabwe by Cecil Rhodes Zimbabweans developed a collective inferiority complex; that they were victims, powerless and expected others (as Cecil Rhodes had done earlier) to feel sorry for them and therefore to take decisions and actions on their behalf.
As I am re-reading this definition, I am not surprised that, today, Zimbabwe is a nation of arm chair revolutionaries. We may think we are superior over other nations, but Burkina Faso has just shown us that the destiny of a nation lies in the hands of its citizens. Therefore, Burkina Faso is smarter than the nation of ‘docile Zimbabweans’.
Tribalism and racism is now deeply entrenched in our mind set to such an extent that we cannot rally behind one of our own visionary, pro- active, revolutionary and warrior fighting on the battle front. Instead of supporting a cause, we first ask of the tribe and totem of the revolutionary. Then we seat by the way side, chat and wait to see his down fall.
As described above, Zimbabweans expect other nations to feel sorry for them and still dreaming that salvation will come from outside. Forget it.
On this note, I would like to ask Zimbabweans to get aboard this noble cause and the struggle we are in – OCCUPY AFRICA UNIT SQUARE.
