The administration confirmed that students will receive a digital version of the text including the necessary image content for a significantly reduced fee. We achieved our primary goal because this specific proposal forced their hand. Monitor your student email for the link to access these materials during the upcoming term.

Dear all OCADU students taking LBST 1B04, Many of you have already heard that OCADU has made an art history textbook that has NO pictures because they could not get copyright permission in time. Many of you, like me, are shocked and appalled and rightly so. To ask us, the students--who mind you are already paying thousands of dollars--to pay 180.00$ plus tax, for a temporary textbook that does not have any pictures of the pieces we will be studying, is preposterous. Pictures are essential for studying art history, needless to say. And giving us an extra online resource of the photos to go with the purchase of a textbook is really not enough. The creation of this textbook is a waste of our money and should not have been printed until copyright permission was acquired. We, the students, demand either that: 1) we get a full refund of the textbook at the end of the year, Or 2)that we study from the old stockstad textbooks, and that only curriculum from those books is taught. Or 3) that the entire text from the textbook be put up online with the photos and that we may access them for a discount price

We have reached the five hundred signature threshold. I am currently drafting a formal letter to the department head to outline our specific demands for a refund or curriculum adjustment.

I have sent a formal letter to the department chair detailing the specific academic drawbacks of a textbook lacking visual references. A follow up meeting is currently being arranged to contest the pricing structure of these materials.

Art history minus the art is literally a waste of paper. Why are we paying for this content?

What is the point of an art history book without the art? My student loan isnt for them to experiment on us. Give us our money back or get us real books

Ridiculous. Should have been finished before printing it. I am not paying for a half done book.
