The regulator has officially scrapped the proposed amendments and agreed to hold the industry workshops we demanded. My workshop hangar would have been forced to close under those rules so this outcome is a massive relief for all of us in the NTCA community. Thank you for signing this because …

Objections to the Proposed CAR & CATS, 55 & 56 (Schedule 6,7,24 & 25)

We hereby object in the strongest terms to the proposal submitted by RAASA to CARcom for the proposals tabled in Schedule 6,7,24 & 25.

Link for Part 55 (Schedule 6) http://www.caa.co.za/Legal Documents/For comme...

Link for Part 56 (Schedule 7) http://www.caa.co.za/Legal Documents/For comme...

Link for CATS 55 (Schedule 24) http://www.caa.co.za/Legal Documents/For comme...

Link for CATS 56 (Schedule 25) http://www.caa.co.za/Legal Documents/For comme...

SAGPA recommend that these proposals to be first discussed and explained to the industry it is going to effect by means of a seminar or workshop.

SAGPA is very concerned on the detrimental effect and far reaching implications these proposed new CARSs and CATS is going to have on the recreational industry.

This will devastate and financially ruin the general and recreational aviation industry in South Africa.

Your assistance in helping YOURSELF and us to protect our freedom to fly will be highly valued.

The industry reaction to these proposals has been overwhelming and confirms that we are not the only ones worried about the future of our maintenance standards. Behind the scenes we are pushing for the workshop that the community demands so that these changes cannot be forced upon us without proper discussion.

The momentum building behind this objection shows how many of us rely on these aircraft to keep our passion in the sky. Seeing this level of backing reminds me why I started this fight to protect our community from these devastating changes.

It will cause many AP's to throw in the towel and stop doing inspections. Where will NTCA be without dedicated AP's.

This needs to have wide discussion and has very large cost implications for the industry which is economically hard pressed at present.

The proposed amendments do not seem to follow the spirit of NTCA. The NTCA owner needs technical oversight, not onerous regulation.

We as members of SAGPA, need to take back our AP system. The present system is totally destroying our flying and we are fast running out of APs. RAASA must NOT have anything to do with our AP system at all and the current system of approving AP applictions is draconian to say the least. Look at the Australian model.

AP No 072 Been an AP for 16 years have built three aircraft and have extensive knowledge on Rotax engines. Should these bills be past I will have to give up.

I do not believe this is in the best interests of NTCA owners and will make flying totally unaffordable!!!!!
