I am opposed to the Whiteduck Provincial Park boundary proposal because there has not been an appropriate impact assessment or consultation with the cottagers and residents of Big Gull Lake.

I am one of the owners of Kirk Kove Cottages and Marina and I vehemently oppose the establishment of a provincial park on BGL, based on the lack of an environmental study on the effects it would have on our beloved lake. I believe allowing access to the lake to thousands upon thousands of people annually, will negatively affect the water quality and fish stocks that we all strive to maintain and protect.

We have big concerns that we are not being told what this land will be used for. You cannot have a proper discussion until BOTH sides know what we are talking about.

I oppose this action by the government without proper consultation with those stakeholders who have inhabited this lake area for generations. Canada has ample uninhabited land for this type of use, please consider taking this land claim there to prevent future years of conflict should this go ahead.

Against adding BGL, as a future Provincial Park the infrastructure of the area could not handle such big changes, the roads, environment, lake , taxes,

Great job on this , thank you and much appreciated. Our Provincial ministries must be held accountable to rate payers and stakeholders. It’s scary to think that they thought they could just ram this through during the holiday season and during the pandemic. We all were truly misinformed. Their own representative admitted it,what a slap in the face. The ministries should be ashamed and embarrassed by the way they have handled this.

I am absolutely against the process that has been utilized that essentially takes away the rights of cottagers and property owners on BGL.
It is an imposed and inequitable process where the rights of some have been over ruled by the rights of others something I am sure was not to be the intended result but can be the only interpretation of this move.

We need to be assured that the proposed park will not be used to enable and promote commercial, for profit, uses of Big Gull Lake.

I feel that the people that are behind the park are trying to get it passed guickly and not inform those affected by its borders. I have heard about this park a few years ago, but the boundary was to be on the east side of the Ardoch Road and not up the roadway. As this boundary seemed not to affect land owners on Big Gull Lake, I was not concerned. Now some how the boundary has jumped the Ardoch Road and would appear without any notice to land owners on Big Gull Lake. I would like to hear why this boundary jumped the Ardoch Road.

This proposal should not proceed, any further, until FULL disclosure is given.
Also the government must provide complete iron clad guarantees that the rules are not later revised or changed, without 100% unanimous consent by all stake holders on Big Gull Lake.
Not enough information
