I lived in Morden in south London where one of these was built 20 years ago. I visited recently and the whole area has changed. No traditional shops, pubs, exist anymore. This must not go ahead.

Traffic, disassociation from local community by size of building amenities therein, deliberate segregation from the local community style not in keeping with the area

If these plans to build the mosque were to go ahead it would turn the area sour and full of hatred. I wouldn't be surprised if it was to spur riots and for that alone on a public safety aspect it should not go ahead. If they really need these services and a place to pray there are other countries with these facilities. Just because they have brought a foreign religion onto Irish soil does not mean Ireland has to cater to it. Understanding that catholosism is a foreign religion of old but this is the modern age.

I'm sure there's plenty of green space in the country for them to destroy and make their super mosque, not in an already over populated and traffic congested area. So big NO

Don't agree with it on so many grounds but the council members who approved it probably got brown envelopes from the extremely wealthy man who will be building it and they probably don't live anywhere near it so don't care about all the negative effects it will have on corduff and surrounding areas. It wouldn't have been approved in castleknock, but they dont think people of corduff need an opinion it's a joke. Like previous comments said we have all the facilities they want to put in to the new building in our community already, so let them use the existing building as a mosque and they are welcome to let their kids use our schools and sports facilities and shops.
