Objection to proposed Development at Pineview Park/Antrim Road

I would like to update you all-the planners thankfully refused planning for the proposed development at Pineview Park/Antrim road. The developer appealed it, following the appeal a decision has been made that the appeal is dismissed! A huge huge thank you to everyone who singed this petition!

Woodland and wildlife is restricted enough in Belfast. I think there is little gain in its destruction to allow a few houses to be squeezed upon an already busy, condensed housing area.

Belfast needs all of the little green spaces to help the city breath and provide an environment that we all can enjoy.

I object as the area is over crowded already and building on an area which houses wildlife is wrong.

grew up in this area & this would be devastating for the area, not to mention the loss of woodland & wild life

Unscrupulous development!!!

This place was my childhood personified! Walking through the forests, collecting the conkers, playing hide and seek. For goodness sake, no every bit of green land in the city needs to be blocked by houses, leave it alone.

Do not remove this small yet beautiful woodland. If it is already one of few natural woodland areas within walking distance to a highly residential area.

There is more wildlife in the wood than in the old zoo not to mention the magnificent tree's of which have outlived many a generation here please stop the mindless destruction and maybe do something with the old empty zoo instead

Childhood spent in this area, used the path daily walking dogs..would be shocking to have houses built on.

Building on that site would cause a vast amount of problems for all the residents of Pineview and the white well road. Please stop the planning permission and building permission

Do not build! We do not want it. Unsightly apartments will spoil the area and devalue properties. Protected species of wildlife live here and this undoubtedly ruin their natural habitats. The mere thought of an unsightly 6 to 8 metre high wall concerns me greatly. There is a right of way there which many residents use for access to the Antrim Road and it is illegal to block off this right of way or indeed to build on it. Do not build! I very strongly object.

This land is used by locals to access the better bus service on Antrim Road.Without the path people would have to walk down to Whitewell Road, then walk up to Hazelwood Park before reaching Antrim Road.The mature trees should stay.

Please stop the destruction of our environment by scrapping this un-required development.

No reason can justify destruction of this green area or it's wildlife!!!

I've lived here my entire life and use the path on a daily basis. I love being surounded by nataural land, instead of having apartments looming over our houses, blocking light. Plus, removing this path would make it significantly harder for us to get to the bus stops on the Antrim Road, which a lot of residents rely on. I strongly object. Leave some green land, please!

Please stop destroying land for the purpose of ur greed of money.....if people like your aren't challenged or stopped will have no land left!

This "off-the-shelf" approach to housing is not acceptable on this site. The scheme has no regard for its natural or built context. The density of housing is far too high for this area. The design is unimaginative and mediocre, and appears to have no regard for public amenity. An approval for this scheme, is an approval for developer profiteering at the expense of others.

To ensure the protection of wildlife and to protect against the risk of landslide, as an inadequate environmental risk assessment has been carried out.

Not only do the residents of Pineview or the surrounding neighbours not want this proposed development, the fact that the ground is sinking and is prone to flooding is a disaster waiting to happen. There are natural springs under the land which is why the developer who built the current houses in Pineview could not continue building on this land. He saw the insanity of doing so, so why can this new builder not also see it? Greed more than likely! Plus a tower block of properties on this raised land will undoubtedly devalue properties in the area. Nor is it in keeping with the style of the other properties in the area. The plans also state how a VERY HIGH retaining wall some 6-8m must be built to hold up the Antrim Road! This is very concerning. There are current TPOs in place in the area as well as endangered wildlife to include badgers and foxes. In addition, the legal right of way across the path for access to the Antrim Road has been in use for excess of 45 years. Pineview Road is a narrow enough road as it is and quite simply not able to cope with increased vehicular traffic and on-street parking. We do not want building to take place and strongly object.
