OBJECTION OF REZONING 18 – 25 Erf 1227 Noordwyk Ext 23
Date of notice: 20th August 2025
Closing date of objections: 17 September 2025
We are writing to formally object to the proposed development of rezoning property from a residential area into a large commercial establishment.
Our objections are based on the following considerations:
1. Increased Traffic and Parking Issues
2. Noise and Privacy Concerns
3. Change to Community Character
4. Impact on Property Values
5. Safety and Security Concerns
In the Midrand area within a few kms there are several shopping centers, public worships etc. As the area stands now there is already a shopping center with shops, dry cleaners, confectioners and fish fryers. There are several shopping centers near the area that cannot be rented and as a result these shops / rooms are lying empty.
We as the residents feel strongly against the rezoning of houses into another building that will be an eye sore in time to come. Our area is designed for residential living, and as residents who have put a lot of money into our properties, we do not want this building to take place.
Considering these issues, we respectfully request that this proposal be reconsidered, with priority given to preserving the residential nature of our community and maintaining its safety, privacy and character.
Please note that this reply is from the community of Noordwyk and not one individual.
Regards
Lynne Maclean
Chairperson to Noordwyk Association NPO
